Sociology - The Many Duties Of SociologistsSociology studies the social, cultural and intellectual aspects of human behavior. A sociologist is a specialist in these fields. In fact, sociology is more than just an academic field.Social issues have always been part of our lives. Since the beginning of time we have been troubled by social concerns. History shows that social issues were frequently discussed in the early civilizations of the earth. This can be seen in the works of ancient Greek philosophers like Plato and Aristotle. They explored the issues of ethics, morality and religion. In contemporary times we see various social issues being discussed in our schools, media and the courts. Social issues are not only a part of society, but they are part of all areas of human activity. Societies of different kinds and groups have different problems, and the only way to solve these issues is through a discussion of them and a consultation of the different members of the society concerned. Historically, sociological issues have been related to political and economic matters. Social issues include questions about social welfare, social inequality, labor, the treatment of women, racial and ethnic discrimination, legal, political and social changes and social attitudes and stereotypes. Sociology is the study of sociological issues.Today, many different sociological issues have to do with education, health care, social work, human rights, job and labor relations, housing, environment, and education. Various social issues can be addressed through the different disciplines in sociology. Different areas of sociological research can be grouped into three main areas. These are directness, organization, and interactivity.Sociological research aims at gathering information about the world around us. There are many interesting sociological questions that are commonly asked. These include how and why, what caused the phenomenon, why did it happen? In this case, the answers are imp ortant in terms of how society and people respond to various situations in the world. It also informs the society about the kind of values that they want to promote.Sociological research can also address issues which have to do with collective decision-making processes. For example, a decision regarding some environmental project can be made through collective decision-making processes. It is more complex than a simple decision. In the past, sociology mainly dealt with the ideas, thoughts and beliefs of people. Today, different sources of information make this field more complicated. It is obvious that there are various causes and consequences of social issues. In order to deal with this problem effectively, some sociologists have proposed certain social changes in the society. Some of these changes include an awareness about social issues, a general reform of social problems, and the change of social policies and their implementation. Sociology is thus an integral part of the societ y.
